Nestled in the heart of Taman Jurong, the Beacon is a vibrant community hub co-managed by Tasek Academy and the Taman Jurong Community Club.
Constructed from repurposed shipping containers, The Beacon houses a Library, Art Studio, Makerspace, Girls Sanctuary, and a Community Green Trellis.
The Beacon aims to be a creative space for the community where all can participate and learn through art, cultural sharing and environmental sustainability.

Library @ The Beacon is open to members of the public from 10am – 6pm on Mondays – Saturdays (Except on Public Holidays) for reading and studying.
For children under 7, they must be accompanied by an adult.
Regular Activities At The Beacon
Art Drop In
Join us to explore your creative side through painting, drawing and hands-on art making. No experience needed, all materials provided – just come and start creating!
Once a month, we will also have a special art workshop where we will be learning and trying out new art forms and mediums. These workshops are by registration so do book your slots early.

Gardening with us at Community Green Trellis
The Community Green Trellis is an initiative supported by the SG Eco Fund to transform the fences around The Beacon into a community food resource centre, where all edibles and herbs grown will be distributed and shared with the community.
Join us in the monthly guided gardening activities, facilitated by trainers from City Sprouts, to help us plant, grow and harvest. At the same time, learn more about soil health, composting and sustainability!

3D Printing Workshop
Curious about 3D printing? Learn the basics of 3D printing facilitated by our friendly youth volunteers from River Valley Irregulars and bring home a customised 3D model of your choice.

1. What are the opening hours of The Beacon?
The Beacon is open to members of the public from 10am – 6pm on Mondays – Saturdays (except on Public Holidays). During these periods, other than planned activities, residents may visit our libraries for reading and studying.
2. Is there a washroom here?
There is no washroom at The Beacon. The nearest washroom is at the Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre or at the Taman Jurong Community Club.
3. Are the activities free?
Yes, all programmes and activities held in The Beacon for the community are free of charge.
4. Is the space accessible for seniors and people with disabilities?
Spaces in Level 1 have a raised step that is largely accessible to seniors and people with disabilities. However, some, including wheelchair users, may require some assistance to enter the rooms.
Spaces in Level 2 will require climbing up a flight of stairs hence may not be accessible to most seniors and people with mobility challenges.
5. Are all the activities and programmes open to the community? Can I or my children join?
All members of the community are welcome to join and participate in the activities shared here. For children under 7 years old, they must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling when they are in The Beacon and/or during activities and programmes.
6. How can I stay updated on upcoming events?
Updates on upcoming events will be provided here or you may look out for posters placed at the entrance of The Beacon. We aim to create more effective publicity channels in the future.
7. Can I volunteer or help run programmes?
Yes! We will be identifying some opportunities for volunteers to help us with the workshops and events. Keep a lookout on SG Cares VC @ Jurong telegram channel (t.me/sgcaresvcjurong) and we will share the volunteering opportunities when we have them.
8. How can I partner / collaborate with The Beacon?

9. Are food and drinks allowed?
Food and drinks are allowed in the Atrium but not in the individual rooms to ensure cleanliness of the space.
